Whether you want relaxed natural shots or something a little more formal, the aim is always to have fun and enjoy the experience while telling your story and creating some great photos.
Where and when?
Family photo shoots don't just need to be for a special occasion. Often capturing everyday life can prove a much more valuable memory of your story and that moment in time.
For that reason family photography sessions are usually held in the familiar surroundings of your home or alternatively outside at a favourite location such as local parks, gardens or even a day at the beach. Although it could be almost any other destination of your choice.
Home sessions usually take one of two options;
Home Studio
Assuming you have the space I can set up a white backdrop and lights for clean looking studio style photos which really focus on the subjects.
Lifestyle
Your home becomes the backdrop to the pictures. In the lounge on the sofa, cuddling on the bed, in the kids room surrounded by toys. This is a great way of saving a little extra detail to look back at with nostalgia in years to come.
How long does it take?
A photo session will usually take up to 2 hours depending on your requirements (Please note 'Home Studio' set ups with backdrop and lights require aproximately 20 minutes to set up and again to pack away). There is no clock watching, sometimes it takes a bit longer to settle everyone into the swing of things before the best pictures come. It is usually the kids that dictate when they have had enough and no ammount of coaxing or bribery will bring any more results. However occasionally it can be the grown-ups that run out of energy first....yes dad, you know who I'm looking at!
After the session
After a session I will be in contact with a link to your own secure, password protected online proof gallery. Depending on how busy I am this will be between 5-10 days. From the gallery you, family and friends are able to view and select which pictures you would like to order. The number of pictures in a gallery varies from job to job but be prepared for upwards of 100 images to choose from.
What is the cost of a photo session?
The cost is £150 for a weekend/Bank Holiday session or £100 for a weekday session.
These prices apply to all standard portrait sessions including newborn, baby, children and teen photoshoots as well as family sessions. More details on price are available here.
How to book
Confirmation by email is required to make a booking.
To secure the booking a deposit of £50 is requested in advance of the session, this is then subtracted from the total cost of the order on completion. The balance of the session fee plus the cost of additional products is due prior to the order being despatched. Please read my terms & conditions for further info.
I believe in total transparency when it comes to pricing for my services and products, my aim is to provide both at a competitive cost that you are fully aware of and happy with before booking and ordering.
There is also no hard sell from me after the session, as I am confident the pictures from the day will do that job on my behalf.
